Rescue California Foundation, Inc. (RCEF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing

voter turnout and participation at the local levels.

The benefit: better political outcomes

Voters want different outcomes from California politics – but they are not well represented.

With more direct voter influence on citizen legislators, and an agenda for those legislators that is

undistorted by special interest money, voters should get the outcomes they seek.

California can lead and innovate in bringing representative government back to the people…regaining prosperity, re-attract business, and become the Golden State again.

RCEF is also working to expand this concept nationally through the new “Hear The People” project.

Rescue California Foundation is a California non-profit founded in 2011 by businessman John Cox.

We’re working towards a single purpose: putting true political power back in the hands of the people. Sacramento is being held captive by the super-rich special interest groups that fund million-dollar campaigns. Our solution? Make campaigns so inexpensive that special interests become irrelevant. To this end, we’ve written the Neighborhood Legislature Act.

The Neighborhood Legislature concept shrinks the size of existing electoral districts to the size of neighborhoods. Elected representatives will be intimately involved in the communities that elect them, and legislators will be set free from their obligations to special interest groups. You’ll know your representative’s name, they’ll know yours, and the power to return the Golden State to its former glory will be put back where it belongs: in the hands of its people.

The Neighborhood Legislature is a revolution of the people, by the people and for the people. Together, we can repair our compromised democracy and restore political equality to California.
